The Spanish Mission San Buenaventura was founded in 1782.  It was intended to be the 3rd mission but its founding was postponed for thirteen years, so it became the 9th mission established on the El Camino Real.

in 1793, the first church burned down.  Today, only a small section of the entire mission complex still stands.  It took the neophytes 16 years to build the new church, which still functions as a parish church of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Can you see Casper, our black cat mascot, playing hide and seek the kitty amongst the potted plants!  He is the sign of an authentic Cat's Meow.

This keepsake is hand-crafted from ¾” thick wood with a detailed front design and a short description on the back. You can set it neatly on a shelf, desk or narrow ledge such as window, door trim, or wainscoting. Group it with other Cat’s Meows of missions to create your own memory of the special places you have visited or want to visit!
