The Nutcracker Ballet is loosely based on a story, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", written by E.T.A. Hoffman. In 1891, legendary Russian choreographer Marius Petipa commissioned Tchaikovsky to write music for his ballet version of the story. "The Nutcracker" debuted on December 17, 1892 in the Mariinsky Theatre and was not performed outside of Russia until 1934 at Sadler's Wells Theatre in England.
From Lisa S. - "I just received my recent order of the Nutcracker Ballet 12 pc set, and I couldn't be more thrilled. You did a nice job with the design and detail. My favorites are Clara's Doll Shop, Waltz of the Flower Shop, and Land of Snow Chalet. The glittery snow on each piece is such a simple, yet perfect accent. The shop names are quaint as well."
Set this theater, crafted from 3/4" thick wood on a shelf, desk, or ledge above your windows or doors.
The Nutcracker Ballet Christmas Story was first performed in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1892. The ballet is an adaptation of “The Nutcracker And The Mouse King” by E.T.A. Hoffman. It was first performed in the United States by the San Francisco Opera Ballet in 1944, and popularized by the New York City Ballet in 1954. This traditional Christmas ballet unfolds a story of a family’s Christmas Eve celebration and revolves around Clara, the daughter, who “awakens” to the world of romantic love.
