Until 1786, Connecticut extended from “sea to sea”, at which time she gave up her land to the new government. In doing so, CT reserved a portion of her western lands for her citizens to buy at reduced prices. This land, now northeastern Ohio, is still referred to as the Western Reserve. Settlers started moving onto this land and building sturdy homes after the War of 1812.

This ¾” thick hand screen printed Western Reserve Academy is named after the Northeast Ohio town in which it is located. This building is part of a four-piece Christmas series with a very limited production time from June to Dec 1985. It can set neatly on a mantle or shelf, or perch it on the molding above your window or doorway. Look for the trademark black cat, Casper, on every Cat’s Meow Village design. Handcrafted in the USA.
