Vintage Waterworks from Bethlehem Christmas Series handcrafted from 3/4" thick wood by The Cat's Meow Village in the USA

3.75" x 4.25"
Bethlehem PA

This ¾” thick Waterworks is hand screen printed on the front with a short description on the back. It is part of a four-piece series of buildings called Bethlehem Christmas Series, created by Cat’s Meow founder, Faline Jones, in her twenty-third year of business. This series was introduced in June 2005 and retired on December 31, 2005.

What an amazing innovation Waterworks is, not just the 1754 handhewn limestone building, but the water pumping system it contained. Water was pumped up from springs into a water tower, then, by gravity, it flowed into cisterns, then into many of the town's buildings.

Look for our trademark black cat, Casper, on every Cat’s Meow. Handcrafted in our Wooster, Ohio workshop.

There are a limited number of this piece available, which is reflected in the price. With your purchase of this building, Faline will donate 10% to Amani Ya Juu, a fair-trade sewing and training program for marginalized women throughout Africa.
