This ¾” thick pine Barbershop is hand screen printed on the front and back. It is part of the very first twelve buildings that Cat’s Meow founder, Faline Jones, started her business with. This and the other eleven pieces were designed in Faline’s imagination. From Sept 1982 through Aug 1983 these pieces were produced using hand-cut stencils and rubber stamps. Faline soon searched out a local sign shop who gave her a screen printing catalog from which she taught herself screen printing. This piece is from 1988 production year. This collection retired Dec 31, 1988.
There are very limited quantities of this piece available, which is reflected in the price. With your purchase of this Barbershop, Faline will donate 10% to Amani Ya Juu, a fair-trade sewing and training program for marginalized women throughout Africa.
