Do you know what a Sooner is? If you do, you probably visited or live in the Sooner State. For the rest of us… “The Sooner State” got its nickname from the cheaters that grabbed land markers for free plots of land prior to the given start date of the Land Rush in 1889.
Made of ¾" thick wood, our artist includes the best of Oklahoma. Each map comes with its own little red heart, so you can mark the place you love the most. When not holding and sharing stories with your friends and family, prominently place your map on a shelf, desk, wainscoting, or door/window trim. We handcraft this artwork in Ohio, but don't hold that against us.
On the back:
- The "Sooner State" joined the Union in 1907.
- State Bird: Scissor-Tailed Fly Catcher
- State Flower: Mistletoe
- State Tree: Redbud
Look closely for Casper, our black cat mascot, making himself at home in the O of Oklahoma...then you know it's an authentic Cat's Meow!
