Pier 39 Sea Lions - San Francisco

Sea lions began to appear at PIER 39 after the 1989 earthquake. California sea lions are noisy, playful, and intelligent. They spend their days sunning themselves and playing in the nearby water. They are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act, which prohibits feeding, handling, or harrassing them.
