A Key West tradition! Sloppy Joe's Bar opened in Key West on December 5, 1933, the day Prohibition was repealed. The bar was Ernest Hemingway's favorite watering hole and the place where he met his third wife in 1936. After two name changes and one move, it still is Key West's favorite watering hole and a place that millions of people have visited while in Key West.
