Nestled on the east bank of the Hudson River, 25 miles north of Manhattan, is Sleepy Hollow...a small village with a big legend.
In the mid-nineteenth century, it was incorporated as North Tarrytown, but by 1996 it was officially renamed Sleepy Hollow honoring the historic name for the area.
You know this town as the famous location in Washinton Irving's short story, "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow". And many people make a pilgrimage here every fall for not only the fall colors but to "take a walk" into Irving's famous story.
