The first steamboat arrived in New Orleans in 1812 from Pittsburg, PA. Steamboat travel was in fashion until train travel became more efficient.
About 450 steamboats cruised the Mississippi River in the 1840s.
Today, two boats offer this unique boating experience in New Orleans.
We handcraft this steamboat from 3/4" thick wood with colorful details on the front and the story on the back.
Look for Casper, our black cat mascot, hitching a ride near the back of the boat. He's looking for all the fish!
Set this steamboat along with other New Orleans pieces on your desk, bookshelf, mantle or any ledge where you can catch a glimpse during your day...reminding you of the great time you had in this city.
