A local doctor, EE Hunter, accepted a $3,300 contract with Carter County Court to build this bridge. He always referred to it as his "five-dollar bridge" since he made a profit of $5 as the contractor.
This bridge is one of only a few covered bridges in the United States that survives in an urban setting.
This covered bridge is created in collaboration with the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of Pennsylvania. $2 from your purchase will be donated to the Society to continue preservation efforts across the U.S.
This ¾" thick wooden keepsake is handcrafted in the U.S.A. with colorful details. It can set neatly on a shelf, wainscoting, or window/door trim to remind you of a special place you've visited or dream of visiting someday. A short description is written on the back. Look for Casper, our mascot black cat, taking up residence within the design. This is the sign of an authentic Cat’s Meow!
