Built in 1916 by Charles Sumner Frost for four million dollars, Navy Pier is a 3,300-foot-long pier on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, located in the Streeterville neighborhood of the Near North Side community area in Chicago. Now the #1 tourist attraction it features a 150 foot ferris wheel, IMAX 3D theatre, Crystal Garden, Children's Museum, Shakespeare Theatre, Festive Hall, Grand Ballroom, Skyline Stage, ships, restaurants, and shops.
