The regular display of a Christmas tree on the Capitol grounds has been a tradition for almost half a century. Correspondence of 1919 in the records of the Architect of the Capitol indicates that a Christmas tree was purchased that year.
However, it was not until 1964 that a definite procedure was initiated and a tree-lighting ceremony established. The United States Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service has provided the trees since 1970.
Have you been lucky enough to see a Capitol Christmas tree in real life?
We make our replica from 3/4" thick wood with colorful details + glittery trees on the front and the story on the back. Look for Casper hiding on the back of this replica.
