Selkirk Lighthouse is located at the mouth of the Salmon River on Lake Ontario, New York. It is one of only four lighthouses in the United States that retains its original bird-cade lantern. It served Lake Ontario shipping from 1838 through 1858 when the lighthouse was deactivated. In 1989, a Coast Guard-approved solar light was installed and the Selkirk lighthouse was reactivated as a Class II navigation aid.
In 1979, the lighthouse was put on the National Register of Historic Places.
