The Chatham Candy Manor was founded in 1955 by Naomi Louise Turner. She was an entrepreneur, far ahead of her time, charming, independent, beautiful and totally eccentric. She and her daughter would arrive in Chatham around the first of July in her yellow push-button drive Desoto station wagon filled to the brim with candy making supplies, card tables, sheets and a couple of old battered suitcases. They would set up the card tables, cover them with the sheets, make a batch of fudge, dip some chocolates and be open for business by the 4th of July!
Today, Chatham Candy Manor has spent 65 years perfecting the traditions of the old-school chocolatier. They take the time to slow-cook their candies in small batches, so that you can be sure the chocolates are always at the peak of freshness, using only the finest quality ingredients!
How sweet it is! Who wouldn't want to be a taste tester of this fine chocolate! Look closely, and you'll find Casper, our black cat mascot, peeking through the front window watching all the shoppers inside and tourists outside. He is the sign of an authentic Cat’s Meow.
