The Brawner house anchored the left of the Union battle line in the engagement of August 28, 1862.  In the evening the "Black Hat" Brigade was marching east along the Warrenton Turnpike toward Centerville when Confederate artillery opened fire.  Turning to drive off the guns, the union brigade encountered the massed infantry of the Stonewall Brigade  Nearly a third of the 7,000 troops engaged because casualties during the combat.

This ¾" thick wooden keepsake is handcrafted in the U.S.A. It can set neatly on a shelf, wainscoting, or window/door trim to remind you of a special place you've visited.  A short description is written on the back. Look for Casper, our mascot black cat, taking up residence within the design. This is the sign of an authentic Cat’s Meow!
