The Flying Geese quilt pattern was used as a signal during the Underground Railroad times.
When escaping slaves saw this quilt hanging outside a home, they knew to follow the path of the flying geese as they migrated north in the spring.
A quilt of this type could also be used to show slaves where to find water, food and safe places to rest.
Add this covered bridge to your other Cat's Meow quilt pieces to create your own little village scene.
Look for Casper, our black cat mascot, perched under the eaves of the bridge. Handcrafted of 3/4" thick wood with colorful details on the front and a short history on the back.
