This accessory to our Women Light Keepers collection features the life of a famous woman light keeper. Lime Rock was completely surrounded by water. Ida Lewis became very skilled in handling a heavy wooden boat and was also reputed to be the best swimmer in all Newport. During her 39 years on Lime Rock, she is credited with saving 18 lives. On March 29, 1869, she was immortalized in this painting commissioned by the US Coast Guard.

This Rescue At Lime Rock keepsake is handcrafted in Ohio from ¾” thick wood with a detailed front design and a written description on the back.
