The peoples of Poland have endured a long history of invasion, occupation, devastation, and power struggles. Communism ruled this country for many years until August 1989 when Tadeusz Mazowiecki became Prime Minister of Poland.
In 1990, Lech Walesa was elected President and the modern period began. Poland inherited severe economic problems from the Communist years, however, it prevailed in transitioning to Capitalism. In 2004 Poland joined the EU, and today the growing population is over 38 million people.
A tour through this country gives you insights, from the suffering of WWII days to beautiful architecture and landscapes, and of course the beautiful souls of the Polish people.
