The East Great Temple is located in Nara, Japan and was founded in the mid-8th century. It is one of the greatest sights to see while in Japan. Emperor Shomu built this temple for both religious and political purposes, symbolizing a unified Japan. The temple, containing the Hall Of Great Buddha, is the largest wooden structure in the world, housing the 53 foot tall bronze statue of the Great Buddha.

This ¾" thick wooden replica of the East Great Temple is designed and painted in Wooster, Ohio to reflect its historical features. You can set it neatly on a shelf, wainscoting, or window/door trim to remind you of a special place you've visited or dream of visiting someday.  A short description is written on the back.
