Just murmuring the name of this amphitheatre transports you back in time and evokes images of an ancient and powerful civilization. Elliptical in shape with a capacity of 50,000 screaming spectators, the Colosseum covers six acres and stands 12-15 stories high. This internationally recognized symbol of the Roman Empire was built by the Flavian Emperors in the first century AD as a gift to the Roman citizens as a gesture to reconcile the citizens with the new era of Emperors and was know as Amphitheatrum Flavium. The last gladiatorial combat took place in 404, and the last hunt in 523. Evidence of the earthquakes that plagued the Colosseum over the centuries exists today in the ruins of this once might giant. Over 4 million people visit this high profile landmark every year.

This ¾" thick wooden replica of the Colosseum is designed and painted to reflect its historical features. It can set neatly on a shelf, wainscoting, or window/door trim to remind you of a special place you've visited or dream of visiting someday.  Look for Casper, our black cat mascot, sitting or reclining in his own special spot.
