Located at the corner of Pearl & Broad Streets, New York, NY this tavern is known as the oldest building in New York City, built in 1617.
Fraunces Tavern played a prominent role in the American Revolution starting in May 1775 when the New York Provincial Congress formed in its Long Room. Soon after, in August 1775, the British Royal Navy sent a cannonball through the roof.
General George Washington and many other patriots used the tavern for social and business affairs throughout the Revolution.
And on December 4, 1783, Washington gave his farewell speech to the officers of the Continental Army, nine days after British soldiers left America.
You'll find Casper, our black cat mascot, sitting on the sidewalk waiting for a crumb to fall somewhere, any where.
It can set neatly on a shelf, desk or narrow ledge such as window, door trim, or wainscoting. Group it with other Cat’s Meows to create your own little Village! Handcrafted in our small Wooster, Ohio workshop.
