At the Plymouth Cordage Company in Mystic Seaport, you get a first-hand view of all the steps that go into making ropes...figuratively and literally.
This circa 1824 building is a 250-ft section of the original 1000-ft cordage company located in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Did you know the Mystic Seaport Museum is the largest of its kind in the United States? Our black cat mascot, Casper, didn't know that either! Actually, you'll find him sitting on the bench in our replica contemplating this fact.
We handcraft this piece in 3/4" thick wood 600 miles due west of Mystic, CT in our Wooster, Ohio workshop.
