Lady of the White House Quilt Barn

I thought it was interesting to find a quilting book referencing First Ladies of the United States. The quilt block design I pulled from this book was first named, White House by Nancy Cabot in 1937. However, in the 1940s, Mabel Obenchain, running a mail-order business, renamed this pattern Lady of the White House.

Of course, you'll find Casper, our black cat mascot, lounging on the sunny windowsill. I also show you how to display this piece with other quilt barn designs.

We handcraft this quilt barn in 3/4" thick wood in our Wooster, Ohio workshop.
