Hands-On Learning @ Louisville Childrens Musuem

What's the most effective way to teach children about their town?

The Louisville Children's Museum in Louisville, KY has a plan, and it includes Cat's Meows!

They've created a hands-on learning experience that familiarizes children with all the local historic places in and around Louisville.

This "Learn About Louisville" exhibit is part of their Mobile Museum where students are introduced to famous Kentuckians, past and present.

They explore a large map of downtown Louisville with over 20 recognizable buildings to become more familiar with Louisville's heritage. There is also a segment exploring the Ohio River that includes more Cat's Meow replicas.

The back of each building includes its history and importance to the city. The museum's vision is to get kids and their families excited and more familiar with their great city through fun, interactive activities.

So how can you create something like this yourself?

Pounce over to “US Travel By State” on our site and you can handpick Cat’s Meows to teach your children.

Are you heading to national parks or new states this year? Or learning about a certain part of the country? We have a children's activity resource for that, too!

My grandkids love printing out the colorful maps from this activity resource and making puzzles to share with each other. Try it with your kids or grandkids!
