The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace

Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of girl scouting in the U.S.A. On March 12, 1912, she assembled 18 girls for a local Girl Scout meeting. She found a joy and purpose in life when she founded the organization of Girl Scouts and worked relentlessly for many years establishing a solid foundation for the movement. She believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Girl Scouts is dedicated to every girl, everywhere. Today the organization has nearly 4 million members and more than 50 million women in the U.S. are Girl Scout alumnae.
